Landscaping mosque in Chechnya

Nursery Udenhout delivered the trees, multistems and other plantation

In Chechnya after 7 years of building the largest Mosque of Europe has been revealed. The mosque is twice as big as de Blue Mosque in Istanbul and offers room for 30.000 people. The outdoor terrain is beautifully landscaped

The majority of the plantation for this enormous project has been delivered by Nursery Udenhout. But it didn’t come easy. About 5 years ago we received the initial enquiry. Based here on an architect and his team visited our nursery to view and inspect the quality of the trees. In the end Nursery Udenhout was chosen to supply the plantation.

We had to hold out for a long time; the project was delayed because of the marble that couldn’t be supplied on time. Finally, last autumn the (multistemmed) trees and the rest of the plantation were delivered by lots of trucks to Chechnya.

In total, 1900 trees have been delivered. The majority of them in size 20-30. The biggest lot were the lime trees; 700 pieces of Tilia cordata ‘ Greenspire’ and Tilia cordata ‘ Rancho’ . The maples also came in a big lot; 500 pieces of primarily Acer platanoides ‘Emerald Queen’. Other species delivered were oaks (Quercus rubra and Quercus palustris), birches (Betula pendula ‘Zwitsers Glorie’ and Betula utilis ‘Doorenbos’) and ornamental pear trees (Pyrus communis ‘Beech Hill’).

Furthermore we delivered multistems and specimen trees in the following varieties: shadbushes (Amelanchier lamarckii), lots of ornamental apple trees (i.a. Malus evereste and Malus toringo ‘Brouwers Beauty’), ornamental cherry trees (Prunus sub. ‘Autumnalis Rosea’ and ser. ‘Kanzan’) and magnolias (Magnolia ‘Galaxy’ and ‘Yellow River’).
